Anita Sue Henrich, 83, passed away October 10, 2015 in Pueblo, Colorado. The daughter of Charles and Zelma (Sparks) Ryan, she was born March 19, 1932 in Exeter, Missouri. Anita’s family moved to rural Westcliffe, CO in 1934. She attended Froze Creek School, Westcliff School, Silver Cliff School, and graduated from Custer County High School in 1951.
On June 7, 1951, Anita was united in marriage to William A. Henrich. Besides being a rancher wife, she also worked as a cashier at Charlie Files Drug Store, Evie’s Variety Store, Jennings Market for over 30 years, and then at the Westcliffe Supermarket until her retirement in 2010. Anita was an active member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church and served on the cemetery board for several years. She enjoyed gardening and bowling, but most of all she loved her grandchildren.
Anita is survived by her children, Willene (Roger) Squire, Laura (Bill) Lockhart, J.D. (Jeanne) Henrich, and Janet (Bob) Walsh; thirteen grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William in 1983; her son, Gary Henrich in 2014; one grandson; one sister; and two brothers.
Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 16, 2015 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church with interment to follow at the Catholic Cemetery in Silver Cliff, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Custer County Catholic Charities at 109 5th Street, Westcliffe, CO 81252.
